Florida Historical Records

Florida is the southeasternmost U.S. state, bordered by the Gulf of Mexico, Alabama, Georgia, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It has the longest coastline in the contiguous U.S., at about 1,350 miles. With over 21 million residents, it is the third-most populous state. Major cities include Miami, known for its Latin-American cultural influences, and Orlando, famous for its theme parks. Jacksonville is the most populous city, and Tallahassee is the state capital.
