To reset a forgotten password, go to the MyHeritage login page, click "Forgot your password?", enter your registered email address, and follow the instructions sent to your inbox to create a new password.
Please Note:
Check Spam: If you don't see the reset email within minutes, please check your junk or spam folders.
Family Tree Builder: If you use our MyHeritage Family Tree Builder software, remember to update your password there after resetting it online.
Email Access: If you no longer have access to your registered email, see the "Lost Email Access" section below.
How to reset your MyHeritage password
Step 1
Navigate to the MyHeritage login screen
Go to the MyHeritage homepage and click Log In in the upper-right corner.
Step 2
Click the Forgot Password link
In the login window, click the link that says Forgot your password? located below the password field.
Step 3
Enter your MyHeritage account email
Type in the email address associated with your account and click Submit. MyHeritage will immediately send a password reset link to that address.
Step 4
Open the password reset email
Log in to your email account and open the message from MyHeritage. You will have two options:
Create a new password: Click the link to set a permanent new password.
Secure login link: Use the "Magic Link" to log in immediately without a password (useful for quick access).
What if I lost access to my registered email?
If you cannot access the email address linked to your MyHeritage account, you can still recover your profile using the following methods:
SMS Verification: If you previously added a phone number to your profile, we can send a verification code to your mobile device.
Identity Questions: If no phone is linked, you may be asked to answer specific verification questions about your family tree to prove ownership.
Account Recovery: For further help with lost email access, please visit our MyHeritage Account Recovery Page.
