How do I log in to my account ?

Find out how to log in to MyHeritage. Step-by-step instructions for email and password, Continue with Google, and Continue with Apple login options

There are three ways to log in to MyHeritage, depending on how you originally signed up. To avoid any issues, always use the same login method you used when you created your account.

Option 1: Email and password

If you signed up with an email address and created a MyHeritage password:

  1. Enter your email address and password.

  2. Click the orange "Log in" button.

📌

Option 2: Continue with Google

If you signed up using your Google account:

  1. Click the "Continue with Google" button.

  2. Select your Google account when prompted.

💡 Note: If you signed up with Google, you do not have a separate MyHeritage password. Always use the "Continue with Google" button to access your account.

Option 3: Continue with Apple

If you signed up using your Apple ID:

  1. Click the "Continue with Apple" button.

  2. Authenticate with your Apple ID when prompted.

💡 Note: If you signed up with Apple, you do not have a separate MyHeritage password. Always use the "Continue with Apple" button to access your account.

⚠️ Used Apple's "Hide My Email" option? ⚠️

If you used Apple's "Hide My Email" option, click here to open the collapsible section.

When you select "Hide My Email" during login with Apple, Apple creates a unique, random email address for your account. Any emails we send will be forwarded to the email address linked to your Apple ID, however we recommend selecting "Share My Email" when signing up to MyHeritage. Hiding your email can cause login issues when switching between devices, and may lead to accidentally creating a duplicate account.

If you did hide your email, you must use the "Continue with Apple" button to log in — your account is not accessible with a standard email and password. Apple assigned your account a private relay address (like abc123@privaterelay.appleid.com), and the "Continue with Apple" button bypasses the need for a Password entirely, logging you in automatically on recognized devices.

Not sure if this applies to you? Check your Apple device settings:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → [your name] → Sign-In & Security → Hide My Email

  • Mac: System Settings → [your name] → Sign-In & Security → Hide My Email

  • Web: appleid.apple.com → Sign-In & Security → Hide My Email

If MyHeritage appears in that list, you signed up with a hidden email and must always log in with the "Continue with Apple" button.
