Newfoundland and Labrador, the easternmost province of Canada, consists of Newfoundland island and the continental region of Labrador. As of January 2024, its population was estimated at 541,391, with most residents living on Newfoundland, particularly in the Avalon Peninsula. The capital, St. John’s, features the historic Signal Hill citadel.
