Many of you have had questions about problems visiting another family site where you found matches.
When you login it tells you: "Your logon has been successful. However, you are currently not a member of the site that you are trying to enter."
Correct?
This means that the family site you are trying to visit is PRIVATE and accessible to members ONLY. If you are not a member of this site, you will not be allowed to view it.
So what to do?
In this case, the thing to do is use the "Contact Webmaster" link.
This link can be found at the top of the SmartMatches list for a particular match.
If you already tried to view a site and were denied (darn!), scroll down to the very bottom of the screen and find the "Contact Webmaster" link.
Contact Webmaster will allow you to write a message to the webmaster of the site.
**Remember to write your message the way you would want someone to write to you. Offer information first, ask for information last. And humor is always a good way to get on someone's white list. :)
Since reformatting my hard disk, I have not been able to restore my gedfile. I have found n the web many versions of my home page in many languages, and translated them, but cannot retrieve the original tree.
