That is a great idea, which I will try, but here are some tricks I found helpful: I based the tree on my parents and CAPITALIZED their first names. The first names of their DIRECT ancestors are also CAPITALIZED, which helps enormously following direct lines, especially downward, for all my parents' direct descendants. Fortunately, my family's ancestry is lousy with nobility, so I also used family coats of arms as identifiers whenever possible. When their is a biographical note large or small for anybody, both first and last names are between asterisks like so: *HUYBERTUS Horst* or *Henry Donald Mac Gillavry* (not a direct ancestor), or MARIE-MADELEINE CHARLOTTE CHRETIENNE le Cocq (de Vicq de Cumptich).
My computer recently crashed and when re-imaged I found I had lost my GEDCOM file. Is it possible to download ones GEDCOM file from MyHeritage? I uploaded it often enough.
I've responded to messages from members but when I click on the Send button there is a very brief interval when the timer icon appears then nothing happens and the Send button remains 'greyed' out.
To get around the problem I sent the message via the Site Manager link. I found they wre also experiencing the same problem replying to messages.
I wouldn't say that the charts are working fine on the Family tree builder, I spent a full day yesterday, tweeking and finalizing the family tree for a printing of a large poster.Had pictures for every member,about 100.Our family reunion is coming up soon, and when i was pleased with the way it looked, I published it, it took from 6:00 pm till sometimes this morning to complete, and when I checked the site, it took me to the Heritage.com, looked nothing like the format I had selected, and there were no photos!! Also all the photos were gone from the Family tree ,I am not a happy camper, let me tell you!!!
Somebody better be "working on fixing the problem,I've been working on this project since March,The reunion is at the end of the month, and I still don't have the fine poster I thought I would have!!!
If you were successful in generating the chart in Family Tree Builder,
there is not need to publish it - you can save it as a PDF file in the program itself,
and then take to a local print shop to print.
Regardless, if you are having trouble publishing, please give me a specific example of the problem (which tree, which individual is missing information)
My original problem was from FTB site,after making my family chart,i published it so as to have it in a PDF,I can not see anywhere on that page where to save as a PDF,It took over 9 hours to finish publishing and then there were no pictures. I've since redone it using My Heritage format, but do not like it as well as the one from FTB.I don't know if you can see my sites??if so, you'll see what my frustration is coming from, all i want is to do exactly as you sugested, save in PDF and take it to my local print shop, thanks for any help you can give me,louise

Trying to make a familybook with only the straightline from one person and back. I have unmarked all the other options, but everything is in the pdf when I open it. Is this a known problem?
My niece set up a family tree. On the welcome page the Family Tree Summary tag is reporting that my father's birth is the earliest event and that he is her father whereas he is actually her grandfather. when we review the family tree the relationship structure looks correct. How could this happen and how do we fix it?
If you are logged in under your email account, then you will be recognized as yourself in the tree and all of the relationships will be directed towards how they are related to you.
Each email address can only be used for one member of the site, and can only be associated with one person in the tree.

I was able to tag some photos I uploaded, but then when I tried to upload more, they won't appear in the tagging area. How do I tag a new photo? The box that says upload new photos is useless, because the uploader doesn't work.
Yes I have the most up to date version on my pc. The book that I created was a test book when I first started my tree, since then I have added alot more and would like to create a book to show at family reunions. Now it will not let me create a new book. Do I need to delete the old book to make a new one?
