Papua New Guinea is located in the southwestern Pacific and comprises the eastern half of the island of New Guinea as well as its outlying islands. A country of enormous cultural, biological, and linguistic variety, with over 830 languages spoken; the country's creole languages, Tok Pisin and Unserdeutsch, represent the effect of both English and German colonization of the two separate regions of the country.
