National Archives of Moldova (Romanian: Arhiva Națională a Republicii Moldova) - National Archives of the Republic of Moldova. Located in Chisinau. The archive was established in 1990. The National Archives preserves and manages documents from the 15th century to the present day. The archive contains a large number of metric books and census records. The archive contains more than 2,000 collections (almost 1 million items).

On December 3, 1990, a number of archival institutions merged to form the current national archive.[1] Among these was the Central State Archive of the MSSR, which was established in 1958 by merging the Central State Archive of the October Revolution and Socialist Construction of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic (both established in 1945) and the Central Historical State Archive of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (MSSR). The ANRM also included the Central State Archive for photo-cinema records, which was founded in 1977.
The Moldovan National Archive's digitization project was finished in May 2018 by Andmevara AS, an Estonian IT services provider. The two-year development cooperation initiative, which was funded by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, improved public access to historical materials by digitizing 250,000 papers.[2]
