Jewish cemetery in Bratslav, now Vinnytsia region, Ukraine.

As of the end of the 19th century, there were several cemeteries in Bratslav, namely: an Orthodox cemetery, which had a rather poor arrangement - instead of a fence, there was only a ditch and not even a chapel; a Catholic cemetery, separated by a stone wall and with a brick chapel; a cemetery of "schismatics"; and a Jewish cemetery. The following is noted about the Jewish cemetery:

The oldest of the existing cemeteries, judging by the number of graves, seems to be the Jewish cemetery, which is located on a steep rocky area, rising above the Bug River - far from the town1.

It is not known how old the Bratslav Jewish cemetery is, but judging by the tombstones on it, at least since the 18th century.

There are several memorials to Holocaust victims and victims of pogroms in the cemetery.

Merchant Yankel Soliterman, who was killed in the 1919 pogrom, is also buried here.
