About Emma MacBeath
Emma MacBeath is a genetic genealogist and a Young Adult and Middle Grade author, writing under the pen name Emmaline Rose. She holds a Master of Education and a Master of Science in Management.
She became hooked on genealogy at a very young age while watching her mother and paternal grandparents search for new family clues. That was long before the age of the internet, which meant every step forward was painstaking, especially since each of her branches is from a different country. She worked as an educator for twelve years until new technological advancements and the introduction of DNA testing reignited her love for genealogy.
Today, Emma specializes in African American genealogy and reconnecting biological families using DNA. She volunteers as a Project Leader for the US Black Heritage Project at WikiTree, where she helped to create an innovative system for researching and documenting enslaved ancestors, and reconnecting them to descendants. She also leads the WikiTree Adoption Angels Project.
