About Dara Tolbert Brooks
Dara is an artist, photographer and writer who loves to travel. She spent thirty-one years in the auto industry on both the creative and engineering side. She was bit by the genealogy bug as a pre-teen ultimately designing, writing and editing her family newsletter for fifteen years. Dara is an avid reader and boater. She has been editor of her boating organization’s bi-monthly newsletter for nearly ten years and a contributor even longer.
Dara’s travel has led her around the country learning, understanding and documenting her family and their journey. In the process she has developed a large extended family. She regularly participates in skill-based workshops, seminars, conferences, forums and classes. She is in her fourth year of facilitating a genealogy-based writing group; has recently become part of the program committee for her local genealogy society; and presents locally. She is a firm believer in sharing genealogical information and regularly posts information on public forums.
Dara favors watercolor, acrylics and charcoal and is capturing the images of her ancestors and family.
Dara is very versatile and sees the world as an opportunity to learn, have fun and enjoy.
