The Avar Khanate was an early feudal state in Dagestan during the 12th-19th centuries. Its capital was in the city of Khunzakh.
From 1803, it was part of the Russian Empire. From 1837 to 1859, it was part of the Imamate.
In 1864, it was completely eliminated by the Russian authorities.
