Wachtstetter Web Site

Welcome to Wachtstetter Web Site

My name is Wayne Wachtstetter and I started this site. This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and me to create a private site for their family, build their family tree and share family photos. The Wachtstetter family tree has roots back to the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis district (Kreis) in the northwest of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.  This district was named after two main rivers (Rhine and Neckar), which flow through the area.  The geography of the region is located between the highest elevation of Stiefelhohe (583m) near Heiligkreuzsteinach in the Odenwald mountains and the lowest elevation in the Neckar valley (92m) near Ilvesheim.  Here the Matthaus Wachtstetter family lived in a town by the name Kleinsachsenheim and were members of the Evangelical Church in Germany (a federation of 22 Lutheran, Reformed and United Protestant regional church bodies).  There were eight children in the Matthaus family, who had two sons (Christian Friederich and Johann Jakob) leave Germany and migrated to the United States.  Christian may have been changed to Christin, when he went through Ellis Island, but I kept his given name in the family tree chart. Our family tree is posted online on this site! There are 337 names in our family site. The site was last updated on Mar 26 2020, and it currently has 1 registered member(s).
