Salanga Web Site

Welcome to Salanga Web Site

My name is Jeannette Marie Leuterio Salanga Lumontod and I am the Webmaster of this site.I suddenly got interested in tracing the family tree when I found SALANGAs in Poland with really Polish roots.  All the while, I thought that SALANGA was a very Filipino name.  Us here, however, are very Filipino.  Our grandparents migrated from San Fernando, La Union to Mindanao.  So that's where I should start groping, I guess.  And not in Poland! Har, har, har...   Although I have had interesting conversations (if you can call it that) with a member of the Salanga-Zubik family.  She sent me emails in Polish, I emailed her in English, and so on...  We somehow got by.From the history pages of San Fernando La Union, Don Juan Salanga served as local chief executive for the period 1915-1918 and 1942-1944.  I bet he is a grand, grand, grandpa.  Imagine having a "Don" for an ancestor.  My father, however, recalls that his grandfather, Claro Salanga was a fisherman.  A fishing magnate, you say?..  He, he, guess again...  He was a good, noble, old-fashioned fisherman who used the constellations as his compass.Anyway, the search for the branches and roots is still on, and YOU are invited to enrich the site with details to profiles, pictures to bring in faces, anecdotes to bring smiles, tears, and life to this site... just about anything. We have quite a nice tree already.  Please feel free to check it out.  I guess, you have to be a member first.  If you're not sure which part of the tree you belong to, just buzz me or email me at ettennaej_10@yahoo.com.  And we'll try to find ways to find your part of the tree. This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and me to create a site for their family and even publish their family tree on the Internet. If you have any comments or feedback about this site, please click here to contact me.
