Bere Web Site

Welcome to Bere Web Site

My name is Amanda Dowd and I am the Webmaster of this site.Welcome to my page of descendents of the Bere Family of Cullompton, Devonshire, England.  This tree lists to the best of my findings a large portion of the descendents of George Bere and Elizabeth (Betsy) Carnell of Cullompton, England, their children, immigrations to Canada and the United States in the 1850's.  As far as I have discovered, there were 11 children by George and Elizabeth, John, the oldest immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts in September 1852, while the 8 youngest immigrated with their parents to Ontario, Canada in February of 1956 and resided in the Township of London, Middlesex.  John married Susan S. of Massachusetts, lived in Sharon, Norfolk until showing up in Boston, Suffolk by June 1900. John's descendents resided in Boston/Dorchester, Massachusetts throughout the 1900's, moving eventually to many locations in the South Shore of MA, and beyond.  This page is constantly in the works and hopefully soon I will have record of George Bere's parents and siblings from England.  I've seen the Bere family in records of parish and probates dating back as early as the 1400's living in Devon(shire), England, that are very probable relations.  I also hope to include more ancestral ties for __Lawrence (or Laurence) Francis Burns born  of Liverpool, England (father of Mary E. Burns, wife of John H. Bere) along with his wife Mae (Mary or May) V. Cutmore, daughter of Mary born of Ireland and ? Cutmore of England. __Henry J. Noble born Dec 1870 in Ireland along with his wife Mary J. ? born Feb 1874 of MA. I hope you enjoy touring my family tree and I can be contacted at spaceshot79@yahoo.com for feedback, corrections or questions.
