The MyHeritage AI Traits video is a cinematic extension of your DNA Traits results. While standard reports provide scientific data, the video transforms those findings into a personalized production that is easy to watch and share. It uses your specific genetic markers to create a custom-made summary of your most distinct traits.

Creating and generating your MyHeritage video
You can start the creation process from your DNA Traits dashboard or immediately after your traits are calculated for the first time.

Step 1: Access the DNA Traits dashboard

Sign in to your MyHeritage account and hover over the "DNA" tab in the main navigation menu. Select "Traits" from the list to open the Traits overview page.
To start generating your video, click “Create Traits Video”.
Step 2: Upload your personal photos

When prompted, upload 1 to 3 photos of yourself. These photos are used by the AI to personalize the visual narrative of your video. Please ensure your photos are clear and follow the on-screen quality tips for the best visual results.
Tips:
More photos are likely to improve the quality of your video.
Choose clear, high-resolution selfies of you alone — ideally one front-facing, and the other two slightly angled profiles.
Avoid anything that obscures your face, including sunglasses and hats.
Any accessories you wear or other visual cues in your photos may appear in the video.

You must grant explicit permission for the MyHeritage AI to process your genetic data and photos into a video format. This step is necessary to allow the system to create the cinematic segments that represent your traits.
Receiving your results
Once you have completed the setup, MyHeritage will begin processing your video. You do not need to stay on the page while the AI works. You will receive an email notification as soon as your personalized results and video are ready for viewing.
Customizing and sharing your results
Once your video is generated, you have options to refine the content and share it with your community.

If you dislike specific scenes in your generated video, click "Customize video". You can check the boxes next to the scenes you want to keep and click "Update".
Please Note:
You can customize the video only once, and the new version will override the previous one. It is recommended to download your original video before performing this update.
Step 5: View and share your video

When the video is finished, click "View Traits Video" to open the viewing window. You can watch the full production or download individual segments to your device.
To share your results on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or WhatsApp, click the "Share" icon at the bottom of the video player. We encourage you to use the hashtags #MyHeritage and #MyHeritageDNA when posting.
Responsibility and Privacy
Please use the MyHeritage AI Traits video feature responsibly:
Consent: Do not upload photos of living people without their permission.
Content Standards: Do not upload photos that depict hate, violence, or offensive subject matter.
Etiquette: These videos are meant to be fun. If a result could potentially offend someone, please refrain from sharing it.
You maintain full control over your data and can delete your uploaded photos from your photo album whenever you choose.
Who can get an AI Traits video?
To receive a video, your DNA results and account must meet a few simple requirements:
Distinct Results: Your results for a specific trait must be clearly defined (showing a strong tendency toward one end of the scale) to be featured in the video.
Kit Access: Either the person who manages the DNA kit or the person the kit belongs to can start the video generation. However, only one video can be created per kit.
Restriction: Minors are not able to create a MyHeritage AI Traits video.
