I only recently returned my myheritage and noticed in my family tree, that if i click on a profile its not showing the relationship path, i.e Direct Ancestor (10th great grandfather). Its not showing the path on any of my ancestors on my tree. Has this gone away?
I have a minor problem. I have already contacted MyHeritage support three times by email and web, but unfortunately, there was no response.
So my problem is, that I can not open pdf file that I previously saved on my computer. When I create familiy tree builder chart (all in one) and I chose the option all generation or more than nine generation, I can see it than afterwards of the web. But if I save that same file on my computer in pdf file, I can not open it. Acrobate reader writes that there was a problem reading a file (20).
I also have created another family tree in your programe with 240 people. In that heritage tree everything is working all right. So I am thinking there must be a problem with an option "all generation".
I have several instances in my family tree where a couple has been married, to each other, more than once. Married, then divorced, then married again (in one case a couple married each other three times and divorced each other two times). Other than just include this information in a note, how can I show dates for these multiple marriages and divorces?
Is there a way to change the name order in the Find A Person list when looking at a tree? Currently it lists people in order by their first name, which seems odd to me. I would rather it listed them in order by their last name instead.
I sent my DNA kit from England to the USA three weeks ago and has not been received by the lab yet. Can you tell me how long the post takes to get get to the lab before I start getting worried? I have heard that the samples on last four weeks so am getting worried now.
I understand "MyHeritage" wants to make money (it is a business after all) but at the same time, they are responsible for creating chaos and confusion! I do NOT want to pay to get my own information sold back to me But think it irresponsible to want to make me pay to contact a person to let her know that listings of family members are wrong (same father but not same mother). Surely there should be an easier way informing other family tree builders about there mistakes regarding family members and so doing minimise the confusion they, potentially, are creating
Does anyone know how to get to these forums from the family site - I caanot find a link in any of the menus - seems to suggest that MH doesn't care about them any more. New members won't even know they exist?
Hi, I found bug. I am using Czech language at site.
When you look at site DNA Matches in English, there is Sort by , you can choose All, Fulll name, Country, Ancestor surnames. I choose Country and type Czech Republic, It shows peoples with same DNA code correctly.
But if I change language of site to Czech, and type Česká republika(Czech name for Czech Republic) nothing came, I have to write only word "republika" and matches shows. So there is problem with Czech encoding in this form. Pls do something with it.
On november 19th I ordered a DNA kit, which I was supposed to receive on 12 business days once shipped. I was notified that on november 21st it was sent. 20 business days later, still no kit. In the DHL tracking page there hasn't been any progress since november 29th, the package being processed in germany. DHL's webpage tell me to ask you for my undelivered package.
some months ago, the design of my family site changed. Now, it shows only the header image, my photo and recent activity list. There were much more features on the site before, e.g. I could display who visits my site.
If foreign person visits my site, he still sees the old design. If I visit it, I see something different.
Is there a way to switch to the old design? Thank you.
Above, Galdámez Acevedo is correct. Galdámez is the surname of his father. Acevedo is the surname of his mother. In everyday life, he was known as Señor Galdámez or Abuelito (grandpa) Galdámez. He signed his name as Guillermo Galdámez A. But he never signed it as Acevedo. None of the Latin American men I ever knew or still know use their second surname, only the first surname. Even though legally, both names identify the individual.
The Latin Americans nearly always use the name of the father, if known. Otherwise, the child has only one surname, which is the surname of the mother.
However, below, José Acevedo () is not a name by which neither he nor anyone else ever addressed him. Both names refer to the same person and both are labeled "her father", but it is easy to become confused, that maybe they are two different persons.
So whether the names be shown as Galdámez/Acevedo or Galdámez-Acevedo or Galdámez Acevedo, both names boxed or in italics or bolded or whatever, maybe someone can figure out how to show both names as surnames, like the the old now outdated, antique and ancient PAF used to include both names in a surname box.
Hi, I deleted my online tree and uploaded a new version of the same tree. The tree has some 9.000 persons in it but after more than three months not a single smartmatch has occurred. No other matches either. The old tree (with more or less the same content) had several thousands matches
I cannot seem to add half siblings to my family tree and that's all I have. I have added a half sister and then tried to remove her connection to one of my parents and that won't work either. Can anyone help? Is anyone at MyHeritage paying attention?
