Corkum-Rhodenizer Family Web Site

Welcome to Corkum-Rhodenizer Family Web Site

My name is Roderick Corkum, and I started this site in 2016. All my four grandparents' families (Corkum, Zinck, Rhodenizer, Hebb) came to Nova Scotia from Germany in the Foreign Protestant Migration in 1751 and 1752 and were original founding settlers of Lunenburg in 1753. - I have been concentrating mostly on my Corkum family on which I have 12 generations all the way back to my 10th Great Grandfather Johannes born approximately 1525 in Gorinchem, Netherlands (hence the origin of the family name.) We knew our ancestors came to Canada from Germany but didn't know that the Gorkum's (as spelled in the 1700's) had previously emigrated from Holland to Germany and had a fascinating history there. I have now also added some of my mother's paternal Rhodenizer family (various spellings) to this tree also. My 7th Great Grandfather Hans Heinrich Rothenhäuser was born in Germany about 1650. - - - The picture here is the rural community of Middle LaHave, Nova Scotia where I am from. For more information about Middle LaHave, visit my personal web site. NOTE: I DO NOT HAVE A PAID SUBSCRIPTION SO IF YOU SEND ME ANY SMARTMATCHES, I AM UNABLE TO CONFIRM THEM BACK TO YOU! - - - If you are a Corkum or Rhodenizer or related to one I'd be happy to hear from you and invite you to be a site member if you would like access to more information on our family tree. If so, please contact me and tell me how you are connected to this family. Please use the Contact page on my personal web site - https://rodcorkum.weebly.com. I have also started adding profiles of deceased persons in my tree to the WikiTree site although there will be much more detail here on MyHeritage (including the living people I have found, available only to members of my site.)
