| Description | Alison Lance Watson is the third wife of Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. She was arrested in January 2004 by FBI anti-terrorism agents for allegedly lying to a federal grand jury about loaning a rental truck to animal rights arsonists, but perjury charges were dropped in September 2004 after a clerk apparently destroyed the only existing copy of a transcript of discussions in the grand jury room before and after she testified. She was ordered again to testify to the grand jury on September 2, 2004 which she refused to do, and subsequently plead guilty on September 9, 2004 to misdemeanor contempt charges for failing to answer the grand jury’s questions. |
