MyHeritage Free Trial: What Happens During and After?

If you're wondering when you can start your free trial and what to expect from it, you're in the right place.

You have more than one opportunity to start a free trial:

Whichever point you choose, your free trial gives you full access to the features included in the subscription you're trying, for the length of the trial.

Your DNA results become much more meaningful when you have a family tree to match them against. If you start your free trial as soon as you buy or activate your DNA kit, you can spend the time while your sample is being processed building out your family tree.

A detailed family tree makes it easier for MyHeritage's tools to make sense of your results once they arrive — including Theory of Family Relativity™, which suggests how you might be related to your DNA Matches based on your tree and historical records.

During your free trial, you'll enjoy full access to all the features included in the subscription you are trying out. To start the trial, you'll need to enter your credit card details. Unless you cancel your free trial before it expires, your card will be charged automatically when the free trial ends, and your trial will seamlessly convert into a paid subscription. This automatic transition ensures you maintain uninterrupted access to all features.

When starting your free trial, you'll receive a confirmation email titled "Thank you from MyHeritage". This email will state how long your trial lasts, so you can easily track when it will expire.

You can cancel your free trial at any time. See: How do I cancel my free trial? Please note that cancelling your free trial ends the access of paid features right away.

Limited Platform Use: After your free trial, your site returns to a Basic (free) account and the access to paid features ends right away. If your tree exceeds Basic (free) account limits, you can view your tree but you won't be able to add more individuals to it. Certain features will no longer be available or will be restricted.

Upgrade anytime when you're ready to add more information and access additional tools and features.

If you buy a DNA kit as a gift, the free trial linked to that purchase belongs to your account — not the account of the person you're gifting it to. Free trials can't be gifted or transferred between accounts.

When the person you gifted the kit to activates it on their own account, they'll have the option to start their own free trial at that point.
