1. Log in to your family site.

2. Move your mouse cursor on the ‘Family Tree’ tab and select ‘Import GEDCOM’.

3. Click on ‘Upload’ to browse the GEDCOM file in your computer, or drag and drop the file.

4. Depending on the size of the file, it may take a few minutes to upload.

5. In order to see your new family tree, click on the ‘Family Tree’ tab.

*When you upload a GEDCOM file to your family site, you will also receive an email notification when the tree is ready to be viewed with a link to see the tree.

If you don’t have a family tree or family site at MyHeritage.com yet, you can import your GEDCOM file during the registration process.

For this use the ‘Import tree (GEDCOM)’ link on the MyHeritage registration page and browse your computer for the GEDCOM file you want to upload. Enter your gender, first and last name and email address.

After clicking ‘Get started’, a family site will be created for you. Click on the ‘Family Tree’ tab to view the tree. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of the GEDCOM file.

Note: A GEDCOM file is a text file, that doesn't include the actual photos but it may contain the links to the photos original location on your computer or family site.
