To get started, let's clarify the key distinctions between an account, a family site, and a family tree.
An account is your personal gateway to our platform. An account can have multiple Family Sites, which are dedicated spaces for your family history research. Each site can contain one or more Family Trees. Learn more about the difference between an account, a site, and a tree for more information on the difference between an account, a site and a tree.
Deleting your account will permanently and irreversibly delete all the content in it, including all family sites, all family trees, all photos, all media content, and all activated DNA kits - even if they don't have results yet.
Note: Deleting your account also cancels any subscription that you have already paid for.
However, deleting your account will NOT impact DNA kits that have not yet been activated, for example if you bought them as a gift. Those kits can still be activated and used.
Deleting your account will also not delete data that is on your computer, such as your Family Tree Builder projects that you worked on in the software. Learn more about Family Tree Builder data.
In case you wish to save your data, you can do as follows:

⚠️ Warning: Deleting your account is permanent. It cannot be recovered later! If you still wish to delete your account on MyHeritage, delete my account.
