How do I change my login details in Family Tree Builder?

When you download and install Family Tree Builder (FTB) for the first time, you will be asked to register for the software.


If you already have an account at MyHeritage.com, you can use your registered MyHeritage.com email address and password to log in. This allows you to sync your family tree to the family sites you have already created on MyHeritage.com.


Also, if you are a Premium or PremiumPlus customer, registering Family Tree Builder with your MyHeritage registered email address allows you immediate access to the Premium features in Family Tree Builder, such as Smart Match Merge and Timeline.


So what happens if you already have an account at MyHeritage.com, but you registered Family Tree Builder with a different email address by mistake (or change your email address on MyHeritage and now need to change it in Family Tree Builder)?


Here is what you need to do:


1. Open the FTB software on your computer


2. In the upper menu bar, click ‘Sync (publishing)’ and select ‘My Sites’:




3. In the window that pops up, click on the ‘Log in as a different member’ link:



There you will be able to enter a different email address and password, or just change your password.


Note:

If you changed your password and/or email address on MyHeritage and now need to change it in Family Tree Builder, please restart the program and you will be prompted to enter your new password.
