1. Log in to your account on Ancestry.com®.
2. Click on the 'Trees' tab at the top of any page, and select the family tree you would like to export.
3. When the tree opens, click on the three dots on the left toolbar and select 'Tree Settings'.
4. You will be redirected to the 'Tree Settings' page, where you should click on the 'Export Tree' button under the 'Manage your tree' section.
5. Click 'Export' on the window that will pop up.
6. Once your GEDCOM file has been generated, click on the 'Download your GEDCOM file' button.
7. Now that you have exported your GEDCOM file, your next step will be to import it into the MyHeritage site by clicking here and following the instructions on the import page.
Please note:
You may notice that your photos and documents are missing from your import. This is because Ancestry has started blocking outside services from downloading media files. We attempt to retrieve your photos during the upload process, but Ancestry’s new protection settings intervene and prevent the transfer.
While we can still import your family tree data, the media files are blocked by Ancestry.
