Yes, your health results may have implications for other family members, because many genetic conditions are inherited. If your results indicate that you have an increased risk for developing a condition, you may want to share this information with your family members so that they too can consider genetic testing.
Testing other family members may help clarify their risk, and may be useful in creating a more complete picture of your family’s health, and identifying the ancestors from whom certain genetic conditions have been passed down. We recommend that you discuss your results and the option of testing with your blood relatives.
Any family member who wants to take a DNA test will need to be tested separately. You may purchase multiple MyHeritage DNA Health kits, or upgrade existing MyHeritage DNA kits that you manage, for your family members. However, each family member will need to create their own MyHeritage account and activate their own kit to view their health results. To protect users’ privacy, each MyHeritage user can only see his or her own health results.
