My name is <Miriam Newman> and I started this site.This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and me to create a private site for their family, build their family tree and share family photos. Seven of our branches -- Hoskins, Chandler, Backus, Dare, Best, Carter and McGraw have been traced back to England, Germany and Ireland. This allows us to identify the original member of that line who immigrated to this country and the approximate year (in two cases the exact date) they arrived.
