To explore your genetic story, follow these steps to access your dashboard and navigate the different features of your MyHeritage DNA results.

If your DNA kit is managed by another MyHeritage user, please ask them to invite you to view your results. Click here for those steps.
How to Access Your Results
1. Log in to your MyHeritage account.
2. Hover over the DNA tab in the main navigation bar and click Overview.
You will find six different tabs for your DNA results - Overview, Ethnicity Estimate, DNA Matches, Ancient Origins, DNA Tools and Traits:
The name of the person whose results you are currently viewing is listed at the top. As you move back and forth between the different tabs, you’ll always see results of the same person, whether it’s an overview, an Ethnicity Estimate or DNA Matches.
If you manage more than one kit, you can change the person whose results you are viewing by selecting another individual from the drop-down menu.
Click on the relevant tab name below in order to open the collapsible section.

Your genetic summary at a glance.
The Overview tab acts as your personal command center. It highlights your top ethnicity percentages and a summary of your most recent DNA Matches.
Quick Links:
Click "View full estimate" to get to the Ethnicity Estimate tab, or "View DNA Matches" to see your full list of relatives. (You can learn more about those tabs by clicking on the titles below under 2. and 3.)
Filtering:
Use the graphical filters on this page to quickly sort matches by relationship, location, or ethnicity.

A deep dive into your geographic heritage and Genetic Groups.
This tab provides a high-level breakdown of your ethnic origins across 42 supported regions and thousands of Genetic Groups.
Interactive Map:
Explore the specific regions your ancestors called home.
Family Tree Overlay:
Click the Layers icon (bottom right) and check "Family tree events." This plots birth and death locations from your tree directly onto your ethnicity map, allowing you to see how your documented history aligns with your genetic data.
You can then compare how your Ethnicity Estimate correlates with events from your family tree. This additional view helps to place your Ethnicity Estimate within the context of your family history and can provide you with a good starting point for further investigation.

Identify and connect with your living relatives.
View a comprehensive list of people who share DNA segments with you.
Filtering & Sorting:
You can sort matches by "Shared DNA" to see your closest relatives first, or filter by specific locations or surnames. You can learn more about the filtering options available in the following article: How can I filter my DNA Matches?
Pedigree View:
Click "View tree" for any match to see their direct ancestors in a simplified Pedigree View. This is the fastest way to find a common ancestor. For more information on the Pedigree View, please read: Pedigree View
Select "Review DNA Match" to discover more details about your DNA Match:

Go back thousands of years to see your connection to ancient civilizations.
The Ancient Origins tab bridges the gap between modern history and the deep past by comparing your DNA to samples recovered from archaeological sites.
Deep Ancestry Breakdown:
See what percentage of your DNA originates from ancient groups such as Western Hunter-Gatherers, Early European Farmers, or Bronze Age Steppe Herders.
Migration Routes:
Use the interactive map to trace the epic journeys these ancient populations took across continents over millennia.
Genetic Comparison:
Discover how your unique genetic signature compares to the average person in your modern population versus these ancient travelers of years ago. Here, you can see how much of your DNA you share with different ancient groups (such as Hunter-Gatherers or Farmers) and view a map of their migration routes throughout history.

Advanced features for serious researchers and family historians.
The DNA Tools tab provides the "heavy machinery" for analyzing your genetic data.
Chromosome Browser:
Compare your DNA with up to seven matches simultaneously. This tool visually maps shared segments on your 22 autosomal chromosomes, helping you identify which segments were inherited from specific ancestors.
AutoClusters:
This tool automatically organizes your DNA Matches into color-coded clusters. Each cluster represents a group of people who likely descend from the same common ancestor or ancestral couple.
Ethnicity Map Comparison:
Compare your ethnicity estimate side-by-side with your matches to see which regions you share.

The MyHeritage DNA Traits tab is a casual, exploratory journey into your genetic blueprint. These reports are designed for education and entertainment, offering intriguing personal insights that are perfect for sharing with family and friends.
Explore Your Potential: Discover 40+ personalized reports across five categories, including Personality & Cognition, Nutrition, Fitness, Lifestyle, and Physical Features.
Personalized Insights: See if your DNA suggests you are a "morning person," how you likely metabolize vitamins, or your genetic predisposition for optimism and memory.
The Role of "Nature vs. Nurture": It is important to remember that your traits are a result of both genetics and environment. Your reports show your genetic likelihood, but your life experiences and choices play an equal role in the final result.

Processing Times: Please note that if you sent in multiple kits, they may not be finished at the same time, even if they arrived at the lab on the same day.
