The best way to back up your family tree is to use Family Tree Builder’s Backup facility.
Please keep in mind: in case you have more than one project (Family Tree) in your Family Tree Builder, you need to run the following steps for each project.
To save a backup copy of your tree in Family Tree Builder please do the following:
1. Open your project in Family Tree Builder.
2. In the upper menu bar click on ‘File’ and select ‘Back up Project’.
3. The wizard will open asking you where you would like to save the file. Select ‘Backup file on disk’.
Now you can copy the file to a CD/DVD, USB key, or any other removable media.
