If you would like to move your Family Tree Builder project from one computer to another, you can choose one of two options below.
First, make sure, you installed the Family Tree Builder software on the new computer. For further instructions, please click on this link: How do I install Family Tree Builder?
1. Download your tree from your online site to the new computer:
If you have synced your tree with the site, and the version on the site is the most updated, you can simply download your project from the family site online to Family Tree Builder on your new computer. 2. Save the file of your project in Family Tree Builder:
You can save your project as a backup copy and then save it on a USB flash drive or any removable media to transfer it to another computer. For the detailed instructions please read the following article: How do I backup my Family Tree Builder project?
Please note that you can only sync your FTB projects from one computer. If you installed Family Tree Builder on more than one computer, please use the program on one computer only and uninstall it from any other device. To learn how to uninstall FTB, please click here.
