Can I upgrade a DNA kit that I manage for someone else so they will receive health reports?

Updated over 5 months ago

Yes. If you manage some DNA kits for your family members, you may upgrade them to receive health reports via the “Manage DNA kits” page. However, to protect users’ privacy, each MyHeritage user can only see his or her own health results. This means that each family member will be able to see his or her health results, but you won’t be able to see them.

If the person to whom you want to make the Health Reports available is already a MyHeritage user, you would need to invite them to be members in your family site and then assign the kit to them.

If the person to whom you want to make the Health Reports available is not a MyHeritage user yet, you can invite them through the "Manage DNA kit" page like so:

1. Hover over the 'DNA' tab and click on 'Manage DNA kits'

2. In the window that will open, click on 'Invite [person's name] to view his/her DNA results'.

3. In the pop-up window that will open, fill out the e-mail address of the person you would like to invite and click on the 'Invite' button.

4. An account will be created for this person with the email address that you have inserted and he/she will receive an automatic invitation to MyHeritage email.

5. After you have invited the tested person, a blue “Upgrade to Health” button will appear under their DNA kit (if eligible).

6. Click on the “Upgrade to Health” button and proceed to the checkout page to upgrade the DNA kit in question with Health reports.

7. Once the DNA kit was upgraded to Health, the person that was tested will receive an email prompting them to fill out the Health questionnaire. They can also do that at any time by simply logging in to their account, under their “Manage DNA kits” menu.
