Lost 80 family members with sync

Hi I think what I've done is sync my laptop with the site which was in the wrong direction and because of that I've lost a lot of work on my family. Is there anyway of restoring the tree to immediately before the last sync ?

Here's hoping....

Hi Paul,

You can try to restore the family tree builder tree by doing the following instructions:

How can I restore my tree in Family Tree Builder?

I hope all works out and you get back your data.

Hi and thanks for your reply but unless I am missing something that will not solve my problem.

On FTB on my laptop I had 39 members, on the web site I had around 100. I sychronised my laptop with the web site and the web site now has only 39 members only, I ran the sync in the wrong direction. If I use the restore as you suggested the only file available to me during the procedure is the one containing the 39 members. The version of the with the 100 members was never synchonised onto the laptop.

I hope this makes sense and there is a solution.

Many thanks

Paul.

Thanks for coming back to me again but that solution won't work. The only valid version of my tree that I had was online and has been overwritten by me running the sync in the wrong direction. When I attempt to restore from the website it only gives me the option of restoring the most recent version of my tree which is the one I used to sync in error.

I never synchronised my laptop with the site before uploading the older tree and therefore have no valid backups on the laptop.

I hope that all makes sense.

thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I replied you in private email to try and investigate this issue further and hopefully to get your information back as well.
