Home page > Settings > Genealogy > Nothing I entered below my photo shows up--e.g., About Our Family and Missing Pieces. I'm not sure where they're supposed to post, but I've been all over my website and can't find them. Where are those two sections? How do I direct people to them?
Also, is it possible to view my website not as the site manager, but as others will see it?
Thanks, I got another email on this, and I'll repeat what I said in my reply to that one. While I appreciate finally knowing where this information lands,I have to say I'm stunned.
For a visitor to have to go to "Manage Trees" to view "About Our Family", etc. is totally non-intuitive and borderline ridiculous. Why would a visitor go to Manage Trees to get any more information at all, as managing the tree is usually a function of the site manager? What does managing trees have to do with About Our Family or Missing Pieces (Please cap "Pieces") For that matter, does the Manage Trees tab even show up on what the visitor sees?
Actually, it just hit me that this might be a language thing and not a navigation thing. Maybe the tab just needs to be renamed. If that's the issue, I'd go for two tabs--About Our Family and Missing Ancestors ("Pieces" doesn't tell you much--besides, a person isn't a "piece"). Also, most genealogists are looking for that missing person/link--this is critical and should be front and center.
If it has to be one tab, then maybe "More Family Info" (not very good, but you get the idea.
Meanwhile--adult supervision for the programmers. Someone needs to monitor their work.
