While fixing this particular problem would be good, The program still will not show all text when updating with Smart Matches,so I can't see all the information that I am trying to update.
If the program is just not suited to windows 7 then I may be better just running on an old XP machine?
When I produce a book report it no longer includes the Paternal Ancestry family tree at the beginning of the report (or the maternal tree) which it used to in earlier versions of FTB. Is this a deliberate change in the report or do I need to do something to include this in the report?
I try to create my family tree, I made it, but I can not see any fotos with my persons. Therefore, when I click on "Edit Foto", internal foto editor don't open foto - I see a messsage about error.
Is it possibly to create multilingual report? I have first and second languages in my tree and can see it in the chart. I can export each language in a ged-file. But the report can be created only for the first language. Any suggesting, please?
In Family Tree Builder (FTB), most charts and reports can be produced in any of the 37 languages FTB supports. We don't have a report that can be produced in more than one language at a time though.
One exception is the Book Report, which is a third party software. The Book Report supports Catalan, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazilian and European), Spanish, and Swedish are also supported. Support for other languages will be added to future releases according to demand and the availability of volunteers to assist with the correct translations.
My great grandfather was adopted. I don't know anything about his real parents but I know the names of people that brought him up. I consider them as his parents. I entered this data into FamilyTree Builder. Everything's OK.
But on my FamilyTree Builder SITE my genealogy line is interrupted on my great grandfather and I can't go up in my tree.
Your reply on this topic is over a year old now, how soon will ths be fixed on on the webiste?
My tree also contains some adopted children, who carry the surnames of their adoptive parents. In FTB these display very well, but on site they're diconnected. Requesting their personal tree, results in a isolated sub-tree. An adopted child with no spouses or children of its own (yet) appears all forlorn.
To keep these persons in the family, visualy, I had to re-register them as natural childs.
what is the status on the adoption issue? I am also waiting for this improvement for quite a while, because I want to add a second tree of ancestors for my mother's parents.
Otherwise, I like MyHeritage (earlier verwandt.de) a lot, even though the large number of functions are sometimes a little bit confusing.
Thank you for this feature, however I'm not seeing how to show the adoption. When I click, I just see the option for "parent". Is there somewhere I can go to see how to do this? Or could you explain?
I just saw that I chose the wrong thread in the forum. Our family tree ist an Online Family Tree with several active members, pictures etc. Therefore, there is now way for me to use the Family Tree Builder.
Now I discovered the thread "How do I add my mother on two seperate trees" dealing with adoption for Onlines trees. You wrote there, that adoption also will be possible in the online version in some months. Is there a date when it will be available?
thanks for the information. In my case, the person's natural parents are known and connected in the family tree. For this person, I want to add a second pair of parents who adopted her as a child after her natural parent's death. How do I connect a person with two mothers and two fathers in the online tree?
I have the same issue and would like to also include the adoptive parents and siblings as well as the biological ones. Hope to see this being possible in the future. Both are very important to us.
