Family of Dennis Buchmiller

Welcome to Family of Dennis Buchmiller

My name is Dennis Buchmiller and I started this site.I created this site using MyHeritage.com.  I have included my four ancestral families: Paternal, Buchmiller & Wisnaski;  Maternal, Weidner & Eswine.  There are variants to the spellings in three of the families taken from old records.  The spellings are close enough to today's spellings that it is easy to recognize them. The site was first published in December 2011, after 35 years of research and five trips to Germany.  In 1980, I re-connected with descendants of German Buchmüller's siblings in Östringen, Baden, Germany. German came to America in 1847, 3 years after  his uncle, John Daniel and sister, Caecelia (Buchmüller) Walter. In 2000, I re-connected with the Esswein family in Ersingen, Baden, Germany.  In 2002,  I re-connected with the Weidner family in Malsh and Weilbach, Germany.  In 2011, I re-connected with the Bumiller family in Jungingen, where Martinus Buechmiller (First Buchmüller in Östringen) was born.   To walk on the lands where my first recorded Buchmiller ancestor, Albrecht Buochmüller lived and worked in 1428, was one of the greatest thrills of my life.  The family operated sawmills in that area for over 500 continuos years. The name Buochmüller first appears in a record from 1171 in the village of Hassenweiler, near Lake Constance.  Interestinly, each time the name appears in old records, there is also mention of a Mühle (Mill). I do believe the origin of the name is derived from that fact.Hope you enjoy this site. Feel free to contact me at:  denbuchm@swbell.net
