My name is Edmund Grant Read, generally known as Grant, and I started and manage this site.   The tree has been pruned to focus on: *  direct ancestors of Grant Read and Lynley Rodger,  *  descendants of those ancestors who came to NZ ,  * some of their wider families (eg Cark and Weeber) that do      not seem to have been explored in other on-line trees * and some amusing connections between them LIKE MOST SUCH SITES, SOME ENTRIES ARE FIRMLY BASED ON PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESEARCH, BUT OTHERS ARE TENTATIVE, INFERRED FROM TREE MATCHES, OR DERIVED FROM OTHER DUBIOUS SOURCES. SO SOME OF THE "NOTES" ARE CONTRADICTORY, SOME OF THE "FACTS" WILL UNDOUBTEDLY BE WRONG, AND SOME WILL  CHANGE.
