About our family
The Westerlund / Longwood / Hawkesford families have come to Australia from late 1800's from England, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden.
My GGFather Mathius Westerlund was a whaler/seaman around Hobart and died at sea in about 1869.
He is survived by his only son, Carl. Then changed to Charles Longwood.
The Barr /Sloan/ Blamire family was following the gold at Ballan, Ballerat, Victoria and then moved to Kalgoorlie.
The Longwood's of Kalgorlie also had a grocery shop.
The Doran family came to Tasmania.
There is a picture of my GF (Leslie or Charles) Longwood athlete running in the Kalgoorlie mile about 1900.
My GGM Katherine Heher came to Geelong, Australia on the "Credenda" in 1853. B 1832 Glenquin, Limerick, Ireland. As a labour scheme for Irish/English young ladies.
There are several Longwood families now around W.Australia / Australia.

My G'Parents Harry Hawkesford and Dorothy (nee Webb) were first to be married from the 'Fairbridge Farm' scheme, Pinjarra, south of Perth W.Australia.
My Father, Neville Longwood played aussie rules football for South Melbourne, now Sydney Swans. He was an inventor, air-forceman, policeman, builder, building inspector, He also bulldozed a water dam for Margaret River, WA in 1950's?
Missing pieces
My GGGfather Mathias Westerlund (b 1840's) was married in Hobart to Lavina Doran in 1860-66?; and no records of birth/ marrage. We presume he was a Norwegian whaler or seafarer. He died at sea being swept overboard in the bass strait , 1868-9 but no records.

No birth details for George /Patrick BAKER, b about 1837 Ireland, may have a brother Micheal BAKER, that stayed in Ireland as a inn keeper. George came to Australia about 1854.married Frances RYAN in Adelaide 3 Jan 1864.
Edward Albert James LAWRENCE b about 1848, near Wandsworth? England. His father could be Ben LAWRENCE, but no more info. He married Mary Jane Pickering in 14 Feb 1871 chelsea, then twenty years before birth of Rhoda Lawrence in 2 March 1891? any other family?
