About our family
My side of family has English surnames,one line (the Dishmans) can be traced back to France. There are cherokee ancestors in both my and my wife's families. I have been able to trace some of her ancestors back to England and Holland. I am tracing my side of the family for my own information, and while my wife could care less about me doing her side of the family, I feel it would be something of value for my children at some point in time

Missing pieces
Cannot find info on Lawillan Rooks except in 1880 census (mis-spelling of Lou Ellen?) Little info on Mary Ann Roberts. Difficulty in finding informatin on Martha Kerns. Changing of last names, and (in instance of the Rooks line) where children were given the mother's last name (married or single) instead of the biological father's makes the going difficult and confusing sometimes.
