This compilation incorporates the research and assembly of Genealogical works by several cousins of whom it has been a blessing to have become acquainted with over the years.  I have merely combined their work into a computerized format available for your enjoyment, editing, and additions.   The core source of this tree is from the book “Descendants Of John & Lucy Davis Woodard”, researched and compiled by George and Thelma Bale Woodard, Hillsdale, MI, in 1989. The heroes of the ancient ancestral research would be Persis Reynolds Shook, Tacoma, WA whose GGGrandmother was Elizabeth Woodard Reynolds (b. 1810) must  be considered a professional in her determined pursuit of tying the modern family to the Colonial Woodards/Woodwards.  Significant help came from Gerald Woodard, Ballston Spa, NY and Sylvia Van Hauten, Middleburgh, NY, both determined researchers. The tie was made when Jerry found the will of Joshua Woodward, my 3rd Great Grand Uncle, naming his nephews and nieces ..."then located in Northern Indiana".   Clint Dygert from central NY provided the Dygert line going back to Germany and has verified those German settlers relished the fight with the British during the Revolutionary War.  Ron & Betty Peters, Hillsdale, MI  have assembled the Moore records which go back to Levi (b. 1781 in CT.)  I hope you enjoy following the lines back into history.  Look at the notes included each profile telling some details of their lives. Such as: Richard and Rose Woodward who sailed from England in 1634 with two sons  on the “Elizabeth”were among the first residents of Watertown, MA, and owned 360 acres of farmland in 1640 .  The property is now what is known as Boston Metropolis. When did the name Woodward change? At least three of our ancestors died in Confederate POW camps – two at the infamous “Andersonville” Prison. Several have been verified to have fought in the Revolutionary War.Also look at the family statistics.  They are fascinating and like me you might find a unique niche all your own. Our family tree is posted online on this site!
