Joyce Underwood started the Genealogy study In the early 70s, She started with the Underwood's and Cannada's my family surnames which both families has a very large family members. Then she extended it To her side of the family which included the Hudson's and the Mitchell's. Each of these families goes back 5 to 7 generations. I started in the early 80s. Joyce had to stop working on Genealogy 2005 with health problems till Joyce death 2012. We would go around to the local libraries and court houses in Garrard County, Knox County, Lincoln County, Washington County, Boyle County, Madison County, Pulaski County, Wayne County, Jessamine County, Mercer County, Franklin County, Fayette County, we also made trips to Campbell co. Tennessee, court house, we found marriage license of Underwood. We also did Frankfort, Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives we made a lot of trips there. We could find about anything that we could find in the court house records every thing on microfilm. Started with computers in 1980’s. As computers and internet got better, we started doing all research at home. We have the census 1790 to 1940. No census in Kentucky for years 1790 and 1800. also have marriage bond, death certificate, on Underwood and spouse family.
