My name is Peter Reid and I started this site, using information provided by John Shanks.Although I'm listed as the "administrator", the site is really in the hands of registered members. If you are reading this on the web then you are a registered member! When you become a member you can upload your own photos and videos, or even documents (as pdf files). You can also add information about yourself or others in your family, like contact details, birthdays, where you work, etc. You can also correct any errors I or someone else may have made. Finally, you can invite other family members to become users as well. It is up to you. "What about security?" I hear you ask. Well, the site is only open to registered members...and you need to be invited by an existing member. So I suggest you think about who you will invite. Also,do not add confidential information! If you were thinking of storing your bank account details here...well don't! If you think there are people accessing the site who should not, or if you are unhappy with comments someone has made, let me know and I'll see if I can fix it.If you really, really, don't want information published about you let me know, and I'll put a note to that effect on the site. If you see that a family member has such a note against their name then please respect their wish to remain anonymous. A few tips to get you startedI find the easiest way to find people is to go to the "Family Tree" tab. You can zoom in and out (zoom control is bottom right...grey until you hover over it), then pick someone in the tree. This brings up their profile. You can attach photos/videos/documents to this person, or add details (click "add" next to "Facts").Sometimes picking "View this person's branch" fromthe options menu will re-focus the tree onto the part you are interested in.What you can doTag people  (In Photos & Videos....Tag people). Others will not recognise that baby in the latest photos, or like me...will have a lousy memory for names. Make it easy by tagging the photos if you know who it is.   Check your own details! Keep track of birthday's and anniversaries in the family (no more excuses). Try these for a bit of funSlide shows (In Photos & Videos....Slideshow). Click "Choose Effect" once you are there to change how it displays the photos.Try the "Look-alike meter". Do you look more like your mum or dad? Upload a photo of each, plus one of a child, and the magic of the internet will give you an answer. Our family tree is posted online on this site!
