Samuel Abbott Green found this hand written journal of Count William De Deux-Ponts at a second hand store in Paris in June of 1867. He found the writing to be intriguing and researched the history of the man who had written it. The introduction, included here in English, contains a history of Count De Deux-Ponts. Following the introduction, is a copy of Deux-Ponts' manuscript as it was written in French and then a translated copy in English. Also included are three letters that had been transferred in writing at the back of the journal. The journal is a history of the campaigns experienced by Count William De Deux-Ponts in America in the years 1780 - 1781.<br><br>
