Index to civil death records of Costa Rica, created by the civil registry office of the Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones, Republica de Costa Rica. The majority of the records date from 2011 to early 2015. Some earlier records are also included.<br><br>Information listed in the index includes: name of deceased, gender, death date, death place, and reference information for locating the original certificate. The deceased's personal ID number (número de cédula), may also be given. Since the número de cédula is unique to each individual, this number can be very useful for locating additional records pertaining to the person, or for ordering copies of original certificates. An original certificate will often provide additional details about the death and more personal information about the deceased.
