"... 21, 1858 A shocking aflair occurred last night at Ixmdcnschligcr'a Bill, at the eastern extremity of Baltimore. Two Italian organ men were found secreted in the Ice house of Col. Maybury Turner, by Turner and a neighbor, named Thomas Wollen. Supposing the designs of the Italians to be robbery, Turner treated the men accordingly, when one of the Italians drew a dirk and subbed Turner and Wolten in their lctt breasts, the Instrcinent entering their lungs, and producing probably fatal wounds. Another friend of Turner's was also stabbed in the arm, produceing a serious wound. Intense excitement prevailed among the residents, and it was difficult to restrain them from lynching the perpetrators on the spot. ..."
