Incorrect names on record matches

I'm just curious, as I found a census record match for my great, great grandfather but the name was incorrect.  His name was Daniel, but on the image of the census record, it's smudged and written partly over with David.  Every other record has him listed as Daniel Skode, from immigration to marraige, death, children, etc.  How do I notify the powers that be that this record is incorrect?

Hi Stacey,

The transcription quality of the records differs from collection to collection, depends on the source and the serious motivation there to transcript all the data, like Census, Birth/Marriage/Death certificates, etc.

To square all this data is a hugh effort, which nobody wants to pay (manpower, costs, etc.)

Here on MyHeritage You have the option to fix historical records. Read this blog article:

https://blog.myheritage.com/2017/11/suggest-alternative-names-to-historical-records/

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Remo
