I'm having trouble using FTB entirely. I downloaded the program off the website and installed it successfully, but when I load it up, it defaults to the "create a new account" screen. In the top-right corner, there's an option that says, "Already a member?" As I need to connect my FTB to my MyHeritage account so that my tree can sync, I click "Already a member?" and it tells me to log in using my MyHeritage credentials.
I typed them in, and it says they're incorrect. I tried changing my login email, my password, I tried closing and reloading the program, and I even uninstalled it and re-downloaded and re-installed it all over again. Nothing changed.
I called technical support, but they're only available to subscribing members of the website. Seeing as one of their central free products doesn't even seem to properly work for me, I'm not particularly motivated to begin paying for any advanced services. Regardless, they don't offer an option to pay monthly anyways, and yearly is not an option for me. The other customer service line (billing?) was unable to help me as they're two separate departments. I even submitted a complaint ticket A WEEK AGO to see if someone could help me with this issue, but I never received a reply.
The only reason I want to use FTB in the first place is to split a tree I have on another site that doesn't offer the ability to split your tree.
The login infos in the FTB You can adjust under the menu Sync (publishing) .. Sync Settings .. Log in as a different member. There You can enter Your correct login details. Did You do this, instead of uninstall/reinstall the FTB ?
Did You enter Your userid (mail address) and especially the password in the correct case (upper/lower) ?
But anyway, I will forward Your problem into our moderator channel directly to the support.
Or are you suggesting that I try creating a new account, then try and switch accounts once the program is loaded? That I haven't done.
Yes, I correctly entered my email address and my case-sensitive password. I tried this numerous times over several days. At a couple points, I also changed my email and my password, and tried again. Each time I made sure I was typing things correctly.
No, no .. You don't have to register a new account.
Because I did this procedure many year ago, with a very old version of FTB, I cannot exactly reproduce Your screens.
And if You took the Already a member path, and entered Your MyHeritage username (email address) & password in the same format as You use to enter to Your family site with a browser .. and it doesn't works, it's a mission for the support.
As I've written before, I've forwarded this thread to them. I cannot see what's happend on the server side when You try to login.
I realize I was a little snappy in my earlier messages, even towards you, when all you did was try to help. I'm sorry, it was uncalled for. You have done all you can, and you have been very respectful. Thank you for that, I appreciate it. Please forgive my attitude, I'm just extremely frustrated.
