Getting information form one tree to another

Hi.

I have recently found other tree that has information about my relatives and got access to it. Unfortunatelly I can't get infromation from that tree into mine for some reason.

First of all there were no automatic matches (and I waited for few days)

Secondly I could not find the person by full name, getting no matches (even if I copy - paste name exactly).

So I did a search by last name only and found correct entry marked as private. It should be accessible for me, but still in the search I see it as private (I still can click through it to get to full information in other tree).

Now I attached it to the person entry in my tree, but still can't extract any information - it just says that information would be available shortly for few hours already.

Does any has any guidance on how to proceed?

Hi Vitaliy,

If the owner of the other tree has stopped his/her tree from Smart Matches and Record Matches process, then You will not receive any matches with the 'simple' data extraction function.

The only thing You can do, is to contact the specific site manager and ask him/her for specific infos, or much better ask him/her for membership on his/her site.

The You can transfer infos - unfortunately manually - to Your tree.

Best regards

Well, I have membership on that site.

Also I had a person with memberships on both sites. She was mapped to a person on each site as well. It did not help much to bring a “smart match”.

Match showed up immediately after I added birth year to her father. So matches are not disabled. Its just system is not smart enough to treat manually mapped people or people linked through same user as a match.
