What do you do if you get a smart match where you know it is the same person but some of the important data in that other person's tree is incorrect. I want to confirm the match but feel I am then confirming false info. I don't have time to keep contacting people about these errors. Should I confirm or not?
I agree. In many cases the person is a match, but my own research has found that some of the data is wrong, so to get rid of it I have to reject it, saying this is not the same person. Also, A spouse of my aunt is NOT my uncle, genealogically. He is my aunt's husband. I don't want to get the extended family hints over and over for non-biological family going back many generations. I don't want a Wiki tree, I want MY tree. I would like a better way to dismiss these matches.
I looked up my own birth record tonight and it has been copied as the wrong place entirely. The document saved to my profile is correct but the information the site would have copied to my tree was wrong. I can see no way to correct anything.
