I have just received a massive number of new record matches (over 1000!)
There seem to be many cases where a couple have 2 plausible marriage certificates - a few days apart in slightly different locations. Mostly 17th and 18th century. Would it have been usual for a couple to have 2 ceremonies, one for each family? If not, how do I work out which is correct?
This happen most of the time, if the two married persons come from different location. What I have seen, this is a administration act to hold the marriage infos in both of the locations (village, town, parish, etc.).
To find out the real marriage place is not easy without official documents, familybooks, etc.
If I'm not able to find more details, I take the data of the place where the bride comes from, and I add the other place and infos as a comment.
