First of all, as I am reading through the other forum entries, I heartily agree that the new matching format is confusing and inefficient. Your techies have a hard time understanding the age old concept "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". In my opinion, you have not only made a mess of the matching process, but also have made a mess of the Photo section.
My question today is,....Where do I find the option where one can "ignore" a person in the tree. I have been able to find the "ignore" tab for a family site in the "matches by source" section, but I cannot find an "ignore" option in the "matches by people" section. I have quite a few folks that have been put on my tree that I have no interest in finding any matches for them. In the "old days", one could easily hit the "ignore person" tab. Not now. Where is it hidden? If, for some reason, you took away that option, please bring it back.
I'm also getting a lot of matches which are so many generations away I dont know the accuracy. An "ignore" function would be selfishly useful for me but surely would also reduce the number of false matches.
Hi Paul. This is fellow site member Carol replying to you. Guess what. The tech group actually DID bring back the "ignore person" option a couple of weeks after I posted my complaint. Here's how you find it. First, with your mouse, hover over the "Discoveries" tab at the top of your site's page, then click on "Matches by People". Pick one of your matches, and click on "review match". You will see a "more options" prompt on the right hand side of the entry. Click on it, and you'll see "ignore this person". I'm glad they brought that option back. I'm with you. Sometimes you don't need or want to know anything more about your grandmother's father-in-law's great grandchild's husband. :)
p.s. In case you didn't know where to go to ignore someone's whole tree, go to the same "Discoveries" tab at the top of the page, click on "Matches by Source". When there, click on the "Smart Matches" tab which will take you to a list of family sites that have one or several matches with folks in your tree. Again, go to the "more actions" option and click on "ignore this tree".
