Every time I bring up the page to confirm a match and look at the information of my relative on the left side of the page, it constantly has mistakes. e.g It will say My great grandmother is my 1st cousin 3 times removed wife. When I check my tree elsewhere on the site, it has the original, correct information, so I can't understand how these mistakes happen.
Does anyone know how I delete the wrong information under the relatives photo on the confirm match page?
This problem also happens when I bring up the relationship page and enter my granparents names. Their relaionship to me is often incorrrect and frequently come up as cousins or gr uncles.
I ensured my wife did the DNA correctly. I let her be first while I decided to register her first. After completing that, I wanted to do my DNA kit. After completing the process and went to add myself to the registration when it said "Add another person". I wanted to register ME! It said that I am already registered and wanted to know if I wanted to submit another on myself (or my wife in this case). I stopped immediately and am going to have to call on Monday. I wish that they would put a "NAME" block so that we would register the right person!
Doe's anyone know why the site won't save photo's when you confirm the match and get taken to the add additional information screen? It only want's to add a photo for the main person but when I've copied over photo's of other people on the page it doesn't do it. Very frustrating!
My cousin was the manager of our family site, but she unfortunately died last year and now we can't manage the site. Is there any possibility that someone else become the manager of our family tree? I want to becoma a manager so that I would be able to continue to manage our family site.
I placed an order last night and I am trying to cancel it for a refund before it ships. I tried calling both your Canada and America hotlines with no answer. i have emailed but only got an automated response. I don't want to pay return shipping, please cancel my order and respond to me.
Really excited with the results of my DNA test, although I was expecting that some more detailed or technical information would be available. Is there any way to request raw or more detailed information?
I recently transferred my DNA results from 23andme to MyHeritage to see what they would come up with for my ethnic make-up. After waiting a few days, my information was finally processed and I was greeted with a list of genetic relatives. What I cannot find, however, is my Ethnicity Estimate. I have looked everywhere I know to look to find it. Does it just show up a few days later or what? Am I just oblivious to it's location?
Cousins are great and all, but the page to transfer made it seem like I was agreeing to share my info to get an Ethnicity Estimate. I was expecting a map, not people.
I'm quite new to the site and its various operating features. I've been building our family tree for ahort while but closing in on 400 people. The most annoying thing to me is how it displays a divorced partner almost in priority over the current partner. In my case my ex-wife sits next to me while my new wife is further to the right. It would be nice to have a reference to the ex without giving the box a more prominent location.... has anyone else found this to be an issue or perhaps a solution I've not discovered? I appreciate the family data regarding the ex, especially when there are off-spring, it's more of the graphical depiction within the tree that would be nice if it could be moved or modifed somehow!
I received my DNA results and the Ethnicity Estimate was absolutely unexpected. My Patenal ancestors for at least 3 generations are all Polish and my Maternal ancestors are Russian and German. How can my Ethnicity be 57% British and Irish?
Hi all. Do you know what file type I need to use to upload to MyHeritage? I see the list of companies, but not the file type. I have my info from Genes For Good. They included a 23&Me formatted file, and a bunch of other ones. There are both txt and a few kinds of vcf.
I have a file that has worked on both Promethease and GEDmatch, but it isn't working here.
I'm thinking of joining. I want to learn and tell others the stories behind just names. Is there a spot to put small bios about individuals? I noticed it's for the main person, but I'd like to add info to more people such as their occupation, etc.
My kit number is MH-7QR366. The estimate time for online results were 10 Mar - 24 Mar. My ticket number #2017032410022779. No one emailed me back. The customer service number continues to disconnect while I'm on hold. Its pissing me off.
I have almost the same experience as reviewer at the bottom in quotes. I was confused when results came with discovery of 13% of British and Irish ethnicity. Roughly that's level of greatgrandfathers and mothers and I'm almost sure that one of my greatgrandfathers was of German origin.
Is it possible that somehow German DNA went under BritIrish?
"I recieved the DNA test results for both of my parents, and both don't seem very plausible for me. The results for my father are the worst.
They say that he is 53% British and Irish. That definitely can't be true. I can trace his entire family tree back several hundred years, and most of them are from what is now considered modern day Germany. The others are from east Prussia, along the Lithuanian border. My mom too supposedly has 22.4% British and Irish in her. But here as well, I can trace all of her lines back to what is now modern day Germany. It seams like when in doubt, My Heritage consistently picks British / Irish as a default Option. I could understand if my parents have a small percentage of Celtic in them, because the Celtic tribes criss crossed Germany sometime BCE, but the 54% and the 22% are just way too high.
I have already emailed MyHeritage to question the acurateness of the results. I will have my parents take another DNA test at another company. If those tests seem to be more plausible and detailed, I will cancel my subscription to MyHeritage."
I have a DNA raw data file from the University of Michigan Genes for Good study. There are several versions, including some that say 23andme and some that say vcf in the file names. I've tried to upload all of them and receive an invalid error. Any suggestions?
Uploaded my AncestryDNA RAW file about a week ago. All I get is a message saying that it is "processing". Anyone gotten a result back that can tell me how long this takes. Everywhere else is only hours, not days or weeks. Maybe it's not working?
